Obstructive Sleep Apnea Educator Assessment

Welcome to your first step in becoming an
Obstructive Sleep Apnea Educator!

Whether you’re delivering educational programs or simply using this training to supplement your current knowledge in OSA, you’ve made a great decision to join us in this path to enhancing clinical practice and patient care.

Our approach is founded in the CDC Training of Trainer Framework, which prepares healthcare practitioners to present information effectively, respond to participant questions, and lead sessions that reinforce learning.

Create an account and complete your profile to access the training materials. For your convenience, you can complete the assessment over time.

What to Expect From This Assessment

For your first step, you will complete an assessment of your understanding of OSA to analyze your strengths and/or reinforce areas that might require additional background education. As part of this assessment, you will answer questions across these domains:

  1. OSA burden of disease/epidemiology
  2. Screening at-risk patients
  3. Confirming a diagnosis
  4. Management approaches
  5. Care coordination

Upon completion of this assessment, you’ll receive a summary with personalized recommendations and resources. We suggest that you review these resources before proceeding to your next step. These assessment results are only available to you and will not become part of your profile should you opt-in to being listed in the educator directory.

What Are the Next Steps in My Journey?

Once you’ve completed the assessment and reviewed your summary, you’ll be guided to:

  • Access the training portal to (1) review expert-developed content highlights; (2) review training materials on program facilitation strategies showcasing scenario-based learning and adult learning principles to help you engage learners and support them in applying newly acquired knowledge to clinical practice; and (3) learn how to build customized presentations using the ACHL CustomED® platform.
  • Download your Obstructive Sleep Apnea Educator certificate and decide if you want to opt-in to the educator directory through which trained educators are matched with hospitals, clinics, regional societies, or other groups interested in receiving a presentation on OSA.
  • Begin building your presentations. With over 125 slides in the comprehensive content library, you can continually tailor your presentations to best meet the goals and needs of your audience.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be ready to present. It’s that simple!
