Our approach is founded in the CDC Training of Trainers framework, which prepares healthcare practitioners to present information effectively, respond to participant questions, and lead sessions that reinforce learning.

What to Expect From This Assessment

For your first step, please complete an assessment of your understanding of obesity to analyze your strengths and/or reinforce areas that might require additional background education. As part of this assessment, you will answer a total of 21 questions across these domains:

  1. Epidemiology, pathophysiology, and complications of obesity
  2. Defining, diagnosing, and assessing obesity
  3. Nonpharmacologic management of obesity
  4. Pharmacologic management of obesity
  5. Management and communication strategies

Upon completion of this assessment, you’ll receive a summary with personalized recommendations and resources. We suggest that you review these resources before proceeding to your next step. These assessment results are only available to you and will not become part of your profile should you opt-in to being listed in the educator directory.

What Are the Next Steps in My Journey?

Once you’ve completed the assessment and reviewed your summary, you’ll be guided to:

  • Access the training portal to (1) review expert-developed content highlights; (2) review training materials on program facilitation strategies and adult learning principles to help you engage learners and support them in applying newly acquired knowledge to clinical practice; and (3) learn how to build customized presentations using the ACHL CustomED® platform.
  • Download your Obesity Management Educator certificate and decide if you want to opt-in to the educator directory through which trained educators are matched with hospitals, clinics, regional societies, or other groups interested in receiving a presentation on obesity.
  • Begin building your presentations. With over 150 slides in the comprehensive content library, you can continually tailor your presentations to best meet the goals and needs of your audience.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be ready to present. It’s that simple!
